quick thought

I have been doing a lot of cleaning and catching up in my life. As I have been doing this I have had many weird thoughts and ideas popping into my head. Poor TJ has listened to these and just responds to them to make me happy. But I wanted to share this one I was washing down the walls in the girls playroom and I thought this:
Five things you need as a mom.
Mr. Clean magic eraser (writing on the wall)
ear plugs (so you keep you sanity when there is a running game being played that involves lots of screaming
play dough (you just can't think of anything else to entertain them with)
hiding place ( you place to keep your sanity mine the bath tub yes I hide in there for a few minutes)
grass ( the smell just calms you and kids love grass fights gives them the giggles)
I know they are weird but I have reasons for all of them.

Potty Trained

It's official Addison is now potty trained. During this wonderful hectic summer Addison decided to go potty in the big girl potty. I was not ready for this but she had other plans she has done awesome in telling me when she needs to go and holding it when we are driving somewhere. This week we have eliminated the sippy cup drink in the middle of the night and she has remained dry the last week. What a amazing little girl I have

Dance Girl

K'Lee was able to parcipate in a dance camp this summer at the dance camp they were given a bag of some really fun stuff. It's from a company called delectable we were given a sugar scrub, body butter and lip gloss they are really good. The guy there who was promoting the stuff took pictures of girls at the camp K'Lee and her friend Abby had their picture taken. It's been posted on the website if you would like to see it. Cooking/ memories

I love to cook and try new things with being so busy this last little while I have not been able to enjoy trying new recipes. My parents and I have shared a garden this year which has been fun K'Lee loved watching the plants come up and now picking the veggies and fruit. So I have been finding recipes and ways to bottle things so that our food storage can grow. When we were planting the garden my mom had this huge plant in the corner I asked her what it was she smiled and said Rhubarb the memories it brought back from us kids picking it at grandma bensons and eating it. I loved her Strawberry Rhubarb pie with ice cream it was always a treat to eat. So I was on a quest to find a recipe. All the recipes I found took forever to make and I was having a hard time finding time to make them I found this recipe and made it. It's not the same at pie but it's still really yummy I was going to take pictures but they are all gone.
Strawberry Rhubarb Squares

Crust and Topping
1 Cup Butter or margarine softened
1 Cup packed Brown Sugar
1 tsp Vanilla
2 cups of Flour
1 1/2 Cup quick cooking oats
2/3 cup chopped nuts
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
mix this together until crumbly reserve 2 cups for the top and press the remaining into a 15x10x1 inch pan

Filling
2 Cups Granulated Sugar
2/3 cups Flour
2 Tbsp milk
4 eggs
4 cups sliced strawberries (2 pints) I cut mine into 4th
4 cups sliced rhubarb (8 stalks)
mix into a large bowl I just used a whisk to stir I then fol ed in the strawberries and rhubarb spoon onto the crust and then sprinkle the reserved crumbly mixture.

bake at 375 for 40 to 50 minutes until the top is golden brown and filling is set. cool slightly and served with ice cream or whipped cream. store the rest in the refrigerator covered.
Sorry no pictures but they were yummy.

Naughty Addison

Well a couple of days ago when Amy and I where home and watching TV we realized that we hadn't heard from Addison in a while. She is normally noisy when she plays, but she wasn't this night.

As you can see why.

That was real fun to cleanup, but hey she has the softest skin in town.

Back to Preschool

Well K'Lee is back to school for 1 more year. I can't believe they held her back. huh.

Just kidding.

She is turning 5 on Sept. 12th but we decided to let her do preschool one more year so when she is older she can date when she is a sophomore.

I haven't really talked to her about if she liked it, but here is a picture of getting ready on her first day back.

K'Lee Soccer

Friday was K'Lee's first soccer game, and I must tell you it was FUNNY!!!!

I have never seen such chaos. I have seen more organized riots in 3rd world countries.

It was really fun to watch her out there though.

As soon as she got there she pee'ed her pants. This is odd because she hasn't done that in several years. We think that the excitement / nervousness coupled with her drinking powerade on the way to the game like crazy made for a disaster.

She seemed to have lots of fun, and only picked up the ball once, instead of kicking it. She really doesn't like soccer because you can't touch the ball with her hands.

Maybe next time she can play goalie and really get confused when we tell her to grab the ball if it comes close to the net.

Clear Things Up.

That is K'Lee's 4 wheeler and I was checking to make sure it was safe. I will admit that it was very fun to drive around. K'Lee wasn't a fan of me driving it but I think it's a mom's job to have fun on kids toys to.

Labor Day Camping

For Labor Day weekend we went camping around here. It was fun, but DIRTY!!!!.. dusty and dry.

The bee's where out in full force also, I think everybody was stung at least once. Me being the first within about 10 minutes of arriving.

The kids had tons of fun, but K'Lee was bummed out because Amy wouldn't share her new four-wheeler and drove it all over.

On Sunday afternoon the rain came and at least dropped the temperature and caused the bee's to retreat. But after a few hours of non-stop rain, we where worried we wouldn't be able to get out of our camping spot due to ruts in the road. So we packed up in a hurry and got out of there.

In all it was a fun weekend.
