Happy Birthday K'Lee

K'Lee turned seven on the 12th with this brought on a moment of Oh My Gosh she is going to be eight in a year wow it was just yesterday that I held that sweet little girl in my arms as a baby. We had a spa day at her Grandma Cids house with facials and mani's and pedi's with her friends from school and dance. We had some snacks and pizza and glittery cupcakes to end the party. It was so much fun to watch them singing along to the music that was playing and helping each other pick out fingernail polish for the finger's and toes. What a bunch of fun girls. Happy Birthday my sweet K'Lee

School

First grade wow is all I can say. I was very excited for K'Lee but also very nervous, and sad. I have had K'Lee around for the last seven years, she has been my helper, my comfort, and been there whenever I needed a hug or kiss and a I love you mom when I need it the most. I am so proud of her and all that she has done. She loves her new teacher Mrs. Clark and she has made some new friends, she was devasted when we found out her sweet Sydney was not in her class, they have made it they are in soccer together and find each other at recess. I did miss her the first couple of days as did Addison and Tucker, she has come home with stories of all her adventures and they love them.

Preschool
I can't believe that my Addison Jo is old enough to go to preschool. She has been so excited to go to school like K'Lee. She was disappointed that she did not get to ride the school bus. She loves her teacher Mrs. Celeste and Mrs, Annette, she also knows about seven of the kids in the class. She decided that she now want's to be call Addi Jo so we have had some meltdowns when I call her Addison I hear really really loud I am ADDI JO. I have now 2 and half hours twice a week with one kid weird I know but I love the time I get to spend with Tucker. On the first day of preschool I went to pick her up and she was crying and holding her hand wrapped in a paper towel I thought ok what happened, Celeste came over and said that she just barely got stung by a bee with lots of crying and saying that bees were so mean I got her into the van and on our way, I had to run to the bank and sign some papers as I pulled in Addi Jo had calmed down and came into the bank the lady there could tell that she had been crying with the puffy eyes and red nose and said here this should make you feel better with that she received a sticker and a sucker, this made a happy Addi we got into the van and I asked what kind of sticker did she give at that moment she started crying and said Mom she gave me a dumb bee sticker, I hate bees and proceeded to throw the sticker onto the floor and cry. What a great first day.

Life Goals

Ok I have goal amazing I know. But the first was to run a half marathon, this year was the year that I made it happen. I ran a couple of races before that the first was the Freedom run in Hyrum on the 3rd of July, And then on the 24th I did a 5k with K'Lee and then proceeded to run the Park City half on the 21st of August. I figured I would need a reward for that and what better way to do that then to go shopping after right. I made my time in 2 hours and 11 minutes which was a way better time then I set for myself, not going to post that time. I was very excited to say that I did it and I don't hate running and I want to continue with the half marathons and other races and just work in better times for myself. The second goal I did not know I had was climbing Mount Borah which is the tallest peak in Idaho. Boyd ( TJ dad) wanted to do it and it became a family thing, TJ who did not do anything but get of the couch climbed, Jer(TJ brother) and Jen (Jer's wife) and I who have been running and training for half marathons, and Boyd who had been hiking and a little running. Cindy and my sister Jamie came and watched the kids bless them for that. We climbed and made it to the top. I will not be doing that again, I want to say this yes I am glad I did it, No it is not something I want to do again I am ok with small hikes and running but for me the Mount Borah thing and walking over a snow bridge and climbing uphill the whole way and having swollen knees at the end just not my cup of tea.
So I have learned two things about myself.
One I Love to run I love that my mind can shut off and I can just run and enjoy the peaceful feeling and I am a better mother for that. I love the fact that I can watch the sunrise and smell the sweet air of Cub River and enjoy it.
Two. When I put my mind toward something I can do it and I become intense on making it happen. I love the feeling of accomplishment when I finish it.
So goals in my life are good. And I love making those goals happen.

Mega Post.

So here is what the Burbanks have been up to this fun, busy summer. The summer started with Tucker's Birthday. We had a crowd of friends and family to come and celebrate his first birthday with us. We did it on the 4th and had dinner and cake and ice cream to follow with sparklers and fireworks. What a fun evening we had.

Tucker Birthday

Camping at Downata Hot Springs

Our family loves this place. We try to go every year and camp and swim all day. This year was no exception we went and swam and swam. Tucker got to the point of jumping off the side of the pool and loved the whole thing. There is no fear in the kid. The girls were even brave enough this year to go down the little slide. K'Lee found one of her friends from school there and they were jumping off the side and going down the slide. Their family was camping next to us so that night we enjoyed some gigantic marshmellows and visiting with their family. What a fun family weekend.

Preston Night Rodeo and 24th of July Fireworks

We went to the fireworks and had so much fun with everyone. Tucker loved them. K'Lee thought it was awesome and Addison liked them as long as her ears were covered, she did not like the loud noises. Rodeo weekend was busy with visitors and fun. We went and floated the Bear River I took just K'Lee and she was not so sure about it at first and her and Heather bailed out at the first waterfall. And then proceeded to walk down to us waiting for them. K'Lee was crying and did not want to go with her cool aunt anymore but Heather was not going to let her go with anyone else but her. After a bit K'Lee was o.k with it and had fun after that and wanted to go again but with someone else(sorry Heather). Sidewalk sales and then our friends from Phoenix came up and hung out for the weekend Shannon and his son Riley loved the whole thing the carnival Riley really liked the parade and getting candy, then totally digged the rides, convinced his dad Shannon to go on the ring of fire, here is the picture it is a roller coaster that goes in a loop and tips you upside down three or four times. That ride makes me sick so imagine how Shannon felt after that the fun ran out when it became a downpour of rain and became cold so the carnival ended early for us. I have decided that maybe skipping the parade and going to the carnival before the crowd comes is a better idea. Saturday night was when the fun started The parade and then the rodeo there was Stacy, My mom and dad, Boyd and Cindy, Shannon, Riley, and my cousin Kris, Heather and Zach, and then TJ, Amy, K'Lee, Addison and Tucker so we had a big group and tons of fun, kids did not make the whole thing by barrel racing K'Lee and Tucker were asleep and spread across us and Addison was asleep before the bull riding. We had fun and enjoyed the time spent with family and friends. Can't wait for next year!!

Shopping
This year I took K'Lee and Addison on their own to do a little of School Shopping I wanted them to have their own special day with mom I remember when I was a kid how much I loved going shopping with just my mom and I had all her attention to myself and I could pick wherever I wanted to eat with her, I think that is why my mom has become my best friend and now I want that relationship with my girls and make them know how much I love them and know how amazing they are to me. Addison was so excited to go all morning mom now can we go, When are we leaving she was so excited to get a cool backpack with princess on it for pre-school so we went to Fire house pizza and ate some yummy food and the shopping we went she loved everything and wanted everything because K'Lee would like it. I finally told her that she should pick things she liked not what K'Lee liked she looked at me and said with a look of complete amazment REALLY. I love that kid she did receive a Princess backpack and some cute clothes for preschool. K'Lee was just as excited and wanted Big J's and then off we went with aunt Heather she had to come with us because Heather dresses cool. I think Heather has brainwashed that kid. I loved it because I got to sit and have a fashion show of all the cool outfits that Heather and her put together and they have style.

Old Faithful

Sorry these are out of order but I came across these pictures from Memorial Weekend. We went up to Island Park with my family. It was nice to hang with the family and let the cousins play. It was very rainy so there was lots of movies to watch, games to be played, yummy food to be eaten, and just visting with the family. We took a trip to Yellowstone and barely missed a baby buffalo being born we drove past just after it was done giving birth. The calf was feeding and mom was still licking it clean. The kids thought that it was very cool.

First Camping Trip

We did our annual camping trip with Burbank clan and had tons of FUN!! Thank you Grandma Cid and Grandpa Boyd for a fun time. fun craft's and yummy food. We played horse shoes, the kid's played in their hideout and on this fallen tree, we very rarely saw them unless they wanted food or doing craft's. Geo caching, and Minnetonka Cave was on the agenda which was lots of fun. The kids at first were not so sure of the cave, there were some tears and words of creepy coming from their mouth's. But as we kept going down the kid's started digging the whole thing finding the shapes in the stalactite's and stalagmite's. They thought the whole turning the lights off were neat. K'Lee liked seeing the diamond sparkle that they shone a light on. FUN FUN Times.
